"To Anybody thinking about breeding a litter of puppies: 

The thought of producing a litter of beautiful Cocker Spaniels, whilst being very attractive as a dream or an ambition, can, when the decision has been made, be a time of high anxiety.  Have I done the right thing?  Will my bitch be alright?  Have I chosen the right dog for her?   All these questions loom large in the mind of the untrained but responsible owner of a bitch. 

I can honestly say that Chris took away many of these anxieties before even she met my bitches.  Firstly she scrutinized their pedigrees to ensure that they were suitable for mating with her dogs, that they were not too closely related or had too many ancestors in common.  She is incredibly diligent and wants only to produce puppies which will enhance the breed and be good companions in their new homes.  Secondly because I lived not too far away from her she suggested she meet my bitches before she decided which dog would be most suitable.   In all her dealings with the mating's she was calm, professional and endlessly patient.   

I have had three litters of puppies now from Powerscourt Dogs.  During the gestation period, the delivery, whelping and the sadness of parting when they go to their new homes, Chris has been a wonderful support.  Taking phone calls when I’m concerned, joining in the celebration of delivery of healthy puppies, advice on weaning, and finally sharing the tears of parting.  She was there whenever I needed her, but never once intruded or gave me the feeling that I was not competent to deal with the situation. 

Truly she has always been a tower of strength during those sometimes stressful – and undoubtedly tiring 8 weeks.  I would have no hesitation in saying, if you are thinking about breeding from your bitch, speak to Chris, she will be honest, fair, responsible and considerate.  She wants only the best for her dogs, your bitch and the reputation of Cocker Spaniels."

"I have only used a Powerscourt sire on one occasion but I have had dealings with Powerscourt for nearly three years previous as my girl is also a Powerscourt bred girl - I have always been thoroughly impressed and in awe of Chris's total dedication, commitment and knowledge of her dogs, their ancestry and the Cocker breed.
